Srinagar, July 15 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness a mixed weather pattern over the next several days, with hot and humid conditions expected to continue till July 17, followed by spells of rain and thundershowers in many parts of the Union Territory, according to the latest forecast.
From July 15 to 17, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid, though brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places.
On July 18 and 19, the weather is likely to turn partly cloudy with light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. The forecast also warns of brief intense heavy showers at isolated places in Jammu division during the late night of July 18 and the morning of July 19.
From July 20 to 23, generally cloudy weather with several spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers is expected at most places, with peak activity likely on July 21 and 22. Heavy rain and brief intense heavy showers may occur at a few districts of Kashmir and Jammu divisions during this period.
On July 24 and 25, only brief spells of rain and thundershowers are likely at a few places.
The advisory has warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall and brief intense heavy showers during the late night of July 18 and the morning of July 19, as well as during July 20 to 22, especially during late afternoon and late night or morning hours.
It has also cautioned about the possibility of flash floods, landslides and mudslides at vulnerable places in Chenab Valley, Pir Panjal range and some hilly areas of Kashmir division during July 20 to 22. Waterlogging in low-lying areas is also likely.(KINS)
