Ganai directs Secy Tourism to review preparations for coming summer tourist season

JAMMU, APRIL 25 – Advisor to the Governor, Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, has directed Secretary Tourism, Mr. Rigzin Samhpael to hold preparatory meetings with all stakeholders including hoteliers, houseboat owners and tour operators to extend best possible facilities to travellers for the coming tourist season in the State.

Ganai, who is also Advisor in-charge of the Tourism Department, highlighted the enormous potential for growth of tourism sector in the State. He called upon the officers of the Tourism Department and CEOs of Tourism Development Authorities to initiate cleanliness and sanitation drives in collaboration with Municipal Corporations and Councils in various tourists destinations, gardens and parks ahead of the coming season. He also directed the Department to identify all roads leading to tourist destinations that require immediate repairs. Instructions were also passed for ensuring regular electricity and water supply and face-lifting of all tourist destinations in the State.

The Advisor urged Directors of Tourism Department to maintain round-the-clock helplines and inquiry booths at airports, bus-stands and railway stations for hassle-free handholding of tourists visiting the State.
