Shopian/ Pulwama working journalists guild hold meet

Pulwama, June 17, :  The twin districts of South Kashmir’s Shopian and Pulwama Working Journalist Guild conducted elections to give shape a new body of the Guild. All the working Journalists participated in the election process.

The members unanimously elected  Mr. Mir Nazir (All India Radio Correspondent) as President, where as Mr. Jan Nisar ( AIR News)  was nominated as Vice President, Mr. Naik Dawood (Zee Salaam) as General Secretary, Mr. Mohummad Imran (Freelancer)  as spokesperson and Mr. Qayoom  Khan (CNN News18/ GNS) as treasurer of the Guild.

During this meeting the members suggested about the unity and role of the association for the overall welfare of journalists.

“We have united ourselves under the SPWJG for the welfare of journalists working in Pulwama and Shopian districts,” said the members.

They said that, need of the hour is to highlight the public grievances and raise every issue which are concerned about the general public, adding that there is no space for black sheep who are maligning the image of media.

Meanwhile President SPWJG, Mir Nazir gave patient hearing to the grievances which were raised by the members of association.

He also felt gratitude towards the members for showing faith in him as president of the guild.

The senior members who were present in the meeting include Mr. Ashiq Mohiuddin (Times Now), Mr. Mohummad Iqbal (Aajtak/ DD News), Mr. Ashiq Hussain (ANI), Ajaz Dar ( Zee News), Syed Manzoor (News18 Urdu), Sheikh Kousar (Gulistan News), Shah Basharat (INS), Mr. Mushtaq ul Islam (CNS), Mr. Umar Rashid (GNS), Mr. Nazir Ahmad (ANN), Mr. Junaid Gulzar (Kashmir Essence), Mr. Kaisar Mir (TV9), Mr. Firdous Ahmad ( Fast News).
