Hailstorm damages crops in Shopian villages

Srinagar, Jul 18:  Heavy rains and hailstorm caused damage to orchards and crops in many areas of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday afternoon.

Reports reaching said that the hailstorm wreaked havoc to orchards and other standing crops. The villages affected by the hailstorm include; Zawoora, Devipora, Budherhama, Alasmarg, Tulihelan, Digam, Karewa, Shadaab, Manloo, in Kellar belt of the district.

Meanwhile, a group of fruit growers have expressed concern over the damage to fruit orchards in the valley due to frequent hailstorm, winds and heavy rainfall.
