Undemocratic decisions to be revisited after Congress comes into power: G A Mir

Srinagar Dec 13:Congress party on Friday lashed out at Modi led BJP government and said the decisions taken by the regime like Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Tripple Talaq, Abrogation of Article 370 and others were ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘undemocratic’. Party criticized the remarks of Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha regarding the release of mainstream political leaders and termed it ‘white lie’.

Talking to news agency, G A Mir Congress state head said the decisions taken by Modi led BJP government from several years are ‘anti-people’ and ‘unconstitutional’. “Be it Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Abrogation of Article 370, Tripple Talaq or else, all were anti-people, undemocratic and unconstitutional”, Mir said.

He added “BJP government at center has breached the principles of democracy blatantly and have taken such steps that divided the people at grass root level”.

“BJP resorted to divisive politics while passing bills like Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Abrogation of Article 370, Tripple Talaq or else undemocratically”, Mir said and added “This kind of lawlessness is being witnessed first time in the history of the country”.

He said people of the country will take revenge of these anti-people policies at an appropriate time and Congress will surely repair the damage caused to the constitution of the country by the undemocratic decisions of BJP.

“People at the time of elections in the country will surely take revenge of these anti-people policies of BJP and will repose their unflinching faith upon Congress who has a potential to unite people from all walks of life and uphold the principals of secularism”, Congress leader said.

Mir said, “If Congress comes into power anti-people, undemocratic and unconstitutionally taken decisions will be revisited”.

He criticized the remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha about the release of mainstream political detentions in which he said local administration will take a call on their release. “What Amit Shah told to house regarding release of mainstream political leaders is absolute ‘white lie’. J&K has become UT and is under the supervision and surveillance of central government from months now, how can Home Minister run from their faults”. (JKNS)
