January 06: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar arrested 03 drug peddlers and seized contraband substance from their possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established near SMHS Hospital Srinagar arrested 03 drug peddlers identified as Salib Parvaiz resident of Maisuma Bund, Aabid Hussain Bhaghadi resident of Khnayar Radhpora and Showket Ahmad Gilkar resident of Shah Mohalla Nawabazar, Srinagar.
Officers have recovered 200 grams of Charas concealed in two polythene bags from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Karan-Nagar where they remain in the custody. Officers at the check point have also seized Maruti car bearing registration No. DL3CBC/3480 used in the commission of crime.
Case FIR No. 01/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Karan-Nagar and initiated investigation into the matter.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
