Srinagar: At least 400 Stranded Kashmiri students left Rajasthan’s Kota for Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning in government-run road transport cooperation buses.
The Jammu and Kashmir government initiated the move after several parents and organisations expressed their concern over their kids remaining stuck in Kota, known as a hub of coaching centres, ever since the nationwide lockdown was announced.
They left in at least 15 buses on Sunday at 9:00 am after Jammu and Kashmir government along with Rajasthan government facilitate them amid the coronavirus lockdown, said JK Students Association spokesperson Nasir Khuehami.
He said that students have started the journey to home and are expected to reach tomorrow.
“ We are very much thankful to CM Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, Rohit Kansal and DC Shahid Choudhary for their intervention, help and making arrangement of transport for their safe return,” Nasir said.
“Groups have started and administration is putting efforts for all stranded students,” he added.
“We again retreat the demand either facilitate the return of all Kashmiri students stranded in different parts of India or give them the best possible facilities and address there grievances at the earliest,” said JK Students Association spokesperson Nasir Khuehami. (KL)
