Cattle thief held in Sopore

Sopore, May 24: Sopore police on Sunday claimed to have recovered the stolen cattle within hours and arrested the accused thief.


In a statement issued that reads, Police Post Putkha received a written complaint from one namely Manzoor Ahmad Mir R/O Choora that today morning he had kept his cattle (male calf) tied in an orchard at Choora which has been stolen from there.


The statement reads, on receiving this report a case FIR no. 46/2020 U/S 379 IPC was registered and investigation taken by Police Post Putkha. Acting swiftly on credible information, cattle thief was arrested along with the stolen cattle within two (02) hours.
