3 LeT militant associates held in Pattan: Police

Baramulla, Sep 03 : Police on Thursday late evening said it has arrested three militant associates of Lashkar-e-Toiba in north Kashmir’s Pattan.

In a statement police said, today Based on specific input regarding movement of terrorists in general area of sub division pattan district baramulla multiple Naka,s comprising of Police Baramulla, 29 RR was established at kralhar, Nihalpoora crossing (Mod), zangam crossing in the jurisdiction of Police station Baramulla and Pattan respectively.

During routine checking three persons moving from zangam crossing to main market Pattan on NHW baramulla road were observed moving in suspicious manner.

The individuals were challenged by the personnel at naka Zangam crossing in the jd of ps pattan to which they tried to flee on being challenged from the spot.

The naka personnel cordoned and apprehended the fleeing individuals.

On spot frisking and physical search threechand grenades were recovered from them.

During on spot questioning they revealed their identityasAbid Parvaiz s/o Parvaiz Ahmed Hajam R/o Andergam Pattan, Javaid Hassan Ittoo s/o Farooq Ahmed Ittoo R/Goushbugh Pattan, Jan Nissar khaliq s/o Abdul khaliq Ganie R/o Chanderhama Pattan.

All three working as OGW for Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. Besides above recovery other incriminating materials were also recovered.

In this regard case FIR no 234 /2020 under relevent sections of law stands registered in police station Pattan and further investigation taken up.
