Srinagar, May 14(KINS): Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police has attached a residential house along with land worth around ₹1.20 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Noorbagh area of Srinagar.
The property belongs to Adil Manzoor Bhat alias Watson, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh. He is involved in FIR No. 48/2022 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Safakadal. The accused is presently out on bail granted by the court.
Police said the attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985, after obtaining approval from the competent authority, SAFEMA, New Delhi.
The action was executed by a police team led by ICPP Noorbagh under the supervision of senior officers while following all legal procedures.
Srinagar Police said it remains committed to eliminating the drug menace from society and warned that strict legal action, including attachment of illegally acquired properties, will continue against those involved in narcotics trafficking.
Police also appealed to the public to cooperate and share information related to drug peddling or narcotics activities with the nearest police station to help build a drug-free society.(KINS)
