Srinagar Oct 14: A gun fight broke out between militants and security forces in Chakoora area of Shopian district on Wednesday.
An official told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that following an input about presence of militants, security forces launched a search operation at Chakoora in Shopian district.
“As forces were searching the area, hiding militants opened fire upon forces,” the official said.
The official said the exchange of firing is going and it is not known how many militants are there.
