Srinagar Police arrests 04 gamblers; ₹79000 Stake money seized

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KINS): Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police said it arrested 04 gamblers from a gambling site and seized ₹79000/- stake money.

In a statement issued here the police said, “A police party of Police Station Zakura raided a gambling site at Shah Hamdan Colony after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 04 gamblers. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahamed Dar resident of Shah Hamdan Colony Zakura, Bilal Ahmad Wani resident of Saderbal Nageen, Javid Ahmad Khan resident of Hawal and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Court Road Lal Chowk.

Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹79000/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Zakura where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 06/2021 under relevant sections of law been registered at Police Station Zakura and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units” .(KINS)
