DDC Kulgam reviews progress on JJM

KULGAM, JULY 30 ( KINS):  The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of District officers of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) along-with District Programme Officer, ICDS Kulgam and Chief Education Officer, Kulgam regarding the implementation of JJM in the district.

At the outset, threadbare discussion was held regarding the coverage of providing piped water supply to the consumers and DDC sought details from the concerned block wise regarding the targets achieved as on date.

While reviewing the target achieved, the DDC directed the concerned officers/officials to ensure that 100 percent coverage of providing piped water supply to left out schools, Anganwadi Centres, Health Institutions, Gram Panchayat buildings is achieved within the timelines.

The meeting also discussed the tendering process for providing water supply to left-out schools and Anganwadi centres for which the DDC expressed satisfaction for timely floating tenders.

The DDC directed the officers that immediate action for expediting the process of floating the tenders for engagement of ISAs is ensured so that the targets for the district are met within the set timelines.

 

Regarding the execution of JJM projects, the chair was informed that out of 32 schemes having project cost less than 1.00 Cr, 7 schemes are already under implementation.

He said that immediate and timely action is required to be taken at the District JJM Committee level for FHTC coverage as per the monthly targets fixed, 100 percent coverage of schools and Anganwadi centres, coverage of Gram Panchayats and Health Institutions, engagement of ISAs etc.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC, CPO, Chief Education Officer and Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti Department. .( KINS)
