DGP J&K sanctions meritorious scholarship of over Rs. 6.50 lakh in favour of 137 wards of serving Police personnel

Srinagar, 12 Oct ( KINS): Encouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in class 10th annual examination during the academic session 2020-2021, the Director General of Police, J&K  Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships of over rupees 6.50 lakh in favour of 137 wards of serving police personnel.

Vide order number 3122 of 2021 issued by PHQ the DGP has sanctioned rupees 6000/- each in favour of 52 students who have secured more than 90% marks while 85 students who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of class 10th during the academic session of 2020-21 has been given rupees 4000/- each .The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.

During the current year till date over rupees 1.27 crore have been sanctioned in favour of 2120 wards of Police personnel who have achieved above 80% marks in the annual examination of class 10th, 12th and graduation for the academic of session 2020-21.

Moreover, the DGP has sanctioned special reward of rupees ten thousand each with commendation certificate Class-1 in favour of four wards of serving police personnel who have qualified competitive examinations during the year 2020-21.

Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.( KINS)
