DIPR’s Cultural Unit Srinagar organizes Nukkad Natak on ‘Save Girl Child’

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 25 ( KINS): In observance of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ abhiyan launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, a ‘Nukkad Natak’ (street play) on the theme “Save Girl Child” was today held at Lal Ded Hospital, Srinagar.

The ‘Nukkad Natak’ organised by DIPR’s Cultural Unit Srinagar in collaboration with Mehak Dramatic Club was held to generate awareness about the growth of girl child in a healthy environment with thrust on their health and education.

On the occasion, the artists stressed on the need for the involvement of parents and all in spreading such messages of social relevance to civil society.

The ‘Nukkad Natak’, using the folk theatre medium, touched on the theme of dwindling sex ratio and life without females in the society.

The hospital visitors and Hospital staff appreciated the Cultural Unit for conducting such programmes.( KINS)
