Srinagar, Jan 19: In a heart-wrenching turn of events on January 12, 2024, the vibrant memories of childhood friends from Kulgam were shattered during a fateful trip to Gujarat. Manzoor Ahmed Parray, a Kashmiri driver, and his close companion, Mudasir Ahmed Parray, fell victim to a devastating electrocution incident that unfolded in the Kheda area of Ahmedabad.
Manzoor, son of Abdul Hamid Parray, fought valiantly for survival after a low-lying electric wire crashed onto the truck he was driving, delivering a severe electric shock to both him and Mudasir. The initial battle for life began in a hospital in Gujarat, but despite earnest attempts to save him, Manzoor’s journey took a tragic turn as he succumbed to his injuries en route to Srinagar.
The somber tale does not end with Manzoor’s passing; Mudasir Ahmed Parray, a cherished friend and fellow resident of Chansar Kulgam, also lost his life in the ill-fated incident. The duo had set out on a journey to Gujarat on January 7, loading their truck with goods and dreams.
According to local accounts, the catastrophic event unfolded when an unexpected low-lying electric wire struck their truck, catching them unaware and subjecting them to the cruel consequences of an electric shock.
This heart-wrenching incident not only claims the lives of two cherished individuals but serves as a poignant reminder of the unforeseen hazards faced by those in various occupations. It underscores the critical need for heightened safety measures in our daily lives, emphasizing the fragility of existence and the importance of safeguarding against the unexpected.
