Fire erupts in Lolab forests, operation to douse off flames started

Srinagar, Dec 30 (GNS): Fire erupted in the forest area of Lalpora, Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday late evening.

Reports reaching GNS said that the fire started in the forest area of compartment number 50 and flames could be seen from the residential parts of Lalpora and its adjoining areas.

When contacted concerned Range Officer Mohd Yaseen told GNS that operation to douse off the flames have been started by the forest department.

The officer said that cause of the fire will be ascertained after the flames are brought under control. (GNS)
