TuM condemns ban on Jamaat-e-Islami

Srinagar, Mar 2: United Jihad Council (UJC) secretary general and Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen chief Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman has termed the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir as interference in religious affairs of Muslims.

Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman in a statement issued to news agency said the ban will not cow down Kashmiri people to surrender before India.

“India has realized that the people of Kashmir are united like a solid rock against the occupation, that is why New Delhi is hell bent upon pushing the Muslims away from their religion,” he said.

“Our fight is not against the poor soldier of India but against the New Delhi’s anti-freedom policies,” TuM chief said, adding, “The Government of India is making its soldiers as cannon fodders.”

Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman in the statement hailed the contribution of Jamaat-e-Islami. (GNS)
