Army porter killed in snowslide along LoC in Uri

Srinagar, March 15 : An army porter was killed after a snowslide hit him in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.

Reports reaching news agency said that the porter Shakil Ahmad son of Feroz Ahmad Din was injured critically after a snow slide hit him at Pinkdi Chowk along Line of Control (LoC).

Shakil, a resident of Ajgar Nawa Uri was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival.

Station House officer (SHO) Uri Tabrez Khan confirmed the incident to news agency. The slain porter was working with army’s 4 Madras.

The incident occurred when the porter was cleaning snow when a snowslide hit with him and died on way to hospital, SHO said. (GNS)
