Governor pays homage to ‘Jallianwala Bagh massacre’ victims, greets people on Ramanavami

Jammu and Kashmir  Governor Satya Pal Malik, on the occasion of commemoration of first centenary of the ‘Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’, has paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for their motherland on 13th April, 1919 at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar.

Paying rich  tributes to the martyrs among whom many were from J&K,  the Governor observed that their sacrifice will be remembered by the generations to come and will always serve as an inspiration for people to safeguard their sovereignty which came after so much struggle and  sacrifices.

Meanwhile, the Governor Malik felicitated people on Ramanavami and prayed that this auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the state.

In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the celebration of festivals, which are an important part of our glorious heritage, strengthens communal harmony and brotherhood and reinvigorates the secular ethos.
