Betrayal with Kashmiris results in alienation with mainstream leaders: Khalid Jahangir

Srinagar, Apr 19 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Khalid Jahangir Friday said that betrayal with the people of Kashmir especially youth is the reason behind their alienation with mainstream leaders.

Jahangir said that people here boycott polls and don’t trust the mainstream leaders as they have been betrayed since long. “People are being remembered during the polls and are being betrayed later,” he said, adding that this was the reason that people especially youth hate mainstream leaders.

He said that people were being used as toothpastes by the mainstream leaders and as far as his constituency is concerned, he will try to put an end to such kind of happenings.

About public support to Nation Conference (NC) and other parties, Khalid said, “I remember in my childhood people in large number were attending Dr. Farooq’s rallies without any rapacity but today, people joined rallies only after they were given benefits. It indicates that people have understood the reality of such leaders.”

He added that ongoing Lok Sabha polls are aimed to choose Narendra Modi again. “I hope people will once again choose Modi as their Prime Minister,” he said.
