Man injured after shot at by gunmen in Sopore village, reffered to Srinagar hospital

Srinagar, May 28 (GNS): A man was injured after shot at by unknown gunmen in Zaloora village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching GNS said that the gunmen believed to be militants fired upon the man Feroz Ahmad Gojri (34) at his home at Zaloora. In the incident, Feroz received two bullet wounds in his both thighs.

They said the injured was rushed to Sub District hospital Handwara where from doctors reffered him to JVC hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Feroz according to reports is a plumber by profession and is survived with a mother, wife and 6 year old daughter.

SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal confirmed the incident to GNS and said that militants fired upon Feroz at his home and injured him. The officer said that the condition of the injured is said to be stable.

Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.

Pertinently, this is second such incident reported in north Kashmir’, on Monday evening. A former militant was shot dead by unknown gunmen in BabGund village of Handwara on Monday evening. (GNS)
