Kher on Zaira’s bollywood exit: “Not her own decision”

Zaira Wasim, the 18-year-old Bollywood actress’s announcement yesterday to quit her acting career citing its interference with her religion and faith, has generated a split of opinions on Twitter.

The latest celebrity to voice out his viewpoint on the matter was Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, who believes that the decision was not taken by the teenage star.

However, while he stated that he respects her sentiments, he is disappointed that a young girl like Zaira had to make such a decision.

He further added that while on one side, we talk of women empowerment, on the other side, we hear news like this.

Then again, he also believes that every individual in the country has the basic right to make his or her own choices.
