Urs of Dastageer Sahib (RA) concludes in Srinagar

Srinagar : Amid snow and harsh weather conditions thousands of devotees offer congregational prayers at Khanyar shrine in Kashmir’ s capital city Srinagar on Friday.


The annual Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), popularly known as Dastageer Sahib (RA), concluded on Friday.


Despite snowfall All roads and interior roads adjacent to Khanyar shrine were filled with devotees to offer Friday congregational prayers.


“Around 20,000 devotees paid obeisance at the shrine and had glimpse of the holy relic on Friday.


The biggest congregation was held at the Khanyar shrine. The relic was displayed after every prayer there.

On the occasion speakers threw light on life of the Sufi saint. The shrine and its premises remained filled with the devotees throughout the day and the area reverberated with the holy verses.
