Cold wave continues in Kashmir, Pahalgam freezes at minus 10

The minimum temperatures throughout the valley remained several notches below the freezing point.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 1.6 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius.

Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 10.0 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 10.0 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 2.7 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of  minus 0.7 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 5.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.0, Batote minus1.9, Banihal minus 0.8 and Bhaderwah minus 1.7 degree Celsius.
