Srinagar-Jammu highway: Traffic advisory for tomorrow

Traffic department authorities on Wednesday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition all kinds of vehicles would be allowed to travel from Srinagar towards Jammu in a regulated manner on Thursday, February 19.

According to the advisory of the traffic department, both Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles will be allowed to ply on the highway with some restrictions. LMVs will have to cross Zig Qazigund between 07:00 am to 01:00 pm.

“HMVs ( Load Carriers)  from Srinagar towards Jammu will have to cross Qazigund from 02:00 pm to 08:00 pm,” it said, adding no traffic will be allowed after the cutoff time from these checkpoints.

It said that the traffic on historic Mughal road, and Srinagar-Sonamarg, Gumri remained closed due to the accumulation of snow.

People have been advised to undertake the journey on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091), Ramban (9419993745, 6005820617), Udhampur (8491928625), Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732).
