Srinagar, Nov 21 (KINS): Bhartiya Janata President (BJP) J&K president Sat Sharma Thursday said that even if the “National Conference passes resolution on restoration of special status hundred times in the Legislative Assembly, the Prime Minister at the Centre would remain the same who made Article 370 a history.
“NC passed an unconstitutional resolution restoring special status in the Legislative Assembly. This was done when the Honorable Speaker Legislative Assembly passed directions to throw out the BJP MLAs. So the resolution was passed unconstitutionally in the House,” Sharma said addressing the seminar on “Unconstitutional Resolution” Organised by J&K BJP’s Legal Cell at Party headquarters Jammu as per news agency—KINS.
Sharma said even if the NC passed a resolution hundred times in the Legislative Assembly, the Prime Minister would remain the same at the Centre who made Article 370 a history.
“Let them pass the resolution again and again, Prime Minister Narendera Modi will remain at the Centre as a man who trashed Article 370 forever and made it a history. PM Modi recently stated that it is better not to open the chapters of history,” Sharma said.
He said that post abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, J&K has witnessed a massive development and a peaceful atmosphere is prevailing all over. “I remember when terrorism was at its peak during the times of Burhan Wani. Things were worse and when meetings were convened by the Centre NC and Congress stayed away,” Sharma said. He said that after hectic efforts of Prime Minister Modi, J&K was brought on the path of peace and normalcy.
“August 5, 2019 was a historic day and it was after that very decision, people like West Pakistan Refugees, Valmikis and other downtrodden people got the voting rights,” he said.
Sharma said now NC is trying to create a perception again that Article 370 and Article 35A would be brought back. “This is nothing other than to befool people of Kashmir. This party deceived people of Kashmir during elections on the pretext that it would bring back Article 370 and Article 35 A.,” the BJP J&K chief said.
He said in the elections BJP emerged as a party with the highest ever vote share of 26 percent. “NC’s vote share was only 23 percent and Congress that was claiming to have its own Chief Minister in J&K was squeezed to just 12 per cent vote share,” Sharma said—(KINS)
