Extensive security arrangements ensure peaceful Ashoora processions across Kashmir: IGP Birdi
Srinagar, June 26 (KINS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Friday said elaborate security and administrative arrangements ensured the peaceful and smooth conduct of Youm-e-Ashoora processions across the Kashmir Valley.
Speaking to reporters, Birdi said security agencies and the civil administration had made comprehensive preparations well in advance to facilitate mourners and maintain law and order during the religious observance.
He commended the organisers and volunteers for their close coordination with the police, saying their cooperation was instrumental in ensuring disciplined processions and smooth public movement throughout the day.
The IGP also expressed gratitude to the people for adhering to the guidelines issued by the authorities and extending full cooperation during the observance. He said the collective efforts of the administration, organisers, volunteers and the public contributed significantly to the peaceful and orderly conduct of the Ashoora processions across the Valley.(KINS)
