Bandipora, Sep 26 (KINS): Hashmee FC emerged champions of the Maj Gopi Singh Rathore, SC Memorial North Kashmir Football Premier League after defeating Al Falak FC 3-1 in the final played in Bandipora on Saturday.
The week-long tournament, organised by the Indian Army across Bandipora, Uplona, Kigaon and Sopore, witnessed participation from 68 teams from different parts of North Kashmir. The competition provided young footballers with a platform to showcase their talent and compete at a broader level.
In the final, Hashmee FC put up a strong performance to register a 3-1 victory over Al Falak FC and lift the championship trophy. The tournament featured competitive matches, enthusiastic participation from players and strong support from football enthusiasts and local communities.
Besides providing budding footballers an opportunity to showcase their skills, the tournament promoted teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and positive youth engagement through sports. The participation of teams from across North Kashmir also reflected the growing interest in football among young players in the region.
With the league phase now concluded, the top two teams from each of the four locations have qualified for the Mega Football Championship. The concluding phase is scheduled to be held in Bandipora from November 9 to 13, 2026, where eight qualifying teams will compete for the coveted championship title.(KINS)
