UP student ‘threatens’ to carry out Pulwama like attack to blow up his school

A student of 10th standard in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh has been detained by the police for allegedly threatening to blow up his school, IANS reported.

The boy also works as a part time newspaper hawker.
“The boy wrote a letter to the school on Sunday threatening a “Pulwama-like” attack if he was not paid the ransom amount of rupees two lakh,” said the school manager, Anil Singh.

He claimed to have planted bombs on the school campus and also in his house.

After the incident school authorities informed the police immediately and it rushed a bomb disposal squad to the school. However, nothing was found in the school after conducting the search.

The police have registered a case against the boy under sections 386 (extortion by invoking fear of death or grievous hurt) and 507 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
