February 23: Continuing with its public outreach programme, Srinagar police held interactive meeting with the community members of Astanpora Brein area of Nishat. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Nehru Park alongwith SHO Police Station Nishat.
The participants raised various concerns including drug menace and other related issues.
The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority. Officers assured them that police is working continuously to curb the offence of drug peddling and also sought their cooperation in eradicating other social crimes from the area.
These meetings are organized to facilitate interaction with community members and redress their grievances so as to create cordial police-public relationship.
Community members hailed the efforts of police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely. The participants thanked & assured full cooperation to curb the social evils in the area. The participants also hailed the special drives of Police against drug peddlers and action against persons involved in other social crimes.“`
