Shopian, Mar 09 : A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants in Khawjapora Reban area of shopian on Monday morning.
An official told on specific inputs about the presence of militants cordon and search Operation was launched in the area.
As forces zeroed towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retialated, trigerring an encounter, he said
Firing from both sides was on when last reports came in.
