3 test negative at SKIMS, no new patient admitted

Doctors urge People to avoid unnecessary visits to hospitals and other congested places

Three patients admitted to SKIMS with symptoms of coronavirus have tested negative for the viral infection.

No patient in Kashmir has yet tested positive for coronavirus. The three fresh samples, that had been taken from three new patients admitted to SKIMS this week, have tested negative as well.

“We have tested the samples in our viral diagnostic and research lab and the samples do not show coronavirus presence,” Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS, said.

SKIMS officials said the three continue to be treated in isolation ward of the institute. The patients had travelled to Korea, Malaysia and Iran recently. No new patient has been admitted to SKIMS.

Meanwhile, doctors have urged people to avoid unnecessary visits to hospitals and other congested places reported Greater Kashmir.
