Coronavirus: J&K administration to procure 100 more ventilators

Srinagar March 21(KINS): Amid coronavirus scare, Jammu and Kashmir administration has placed orders for 100 more ventilators to deal with any eventuality.


Sources said there are less than 200 ventilators available in Jammu and Kashmir hospitals for a population of 1.20 crore.


In Kashmir there are less than 100 ventilators for a population of 70 lakh.
“All these ventilators are at present occupied by patients. God’s forbid, if there is requirement of more ventilators, we will be in crisis situation,” sources told Kashmir In depth News Service.


A top official said J&K administration has placed orders for 100 more ventilators. “It will take few weeks to procure them,” the official added.
