Govt releases Rs 27 cr under SDRF for COVID-19 containment operations

JAMMU, APRIL 11: The Government on Saturday released Rs 27 crore under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for sustenance of effective relief and response operation for COVID-19.

According to order issued by Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR) said, “The funds to the extent of Rs 27 crore have been released for all the Deputy Commissioners (DC) and DGP of Police, on BEAMS portal.”

As per the order, Rs Two crore each have been released for Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, while Rs One crore has been released for all the other Deputy Commissioners.

Besides, Rs. Five crore have been released for DGP through Home Department, read the order.

The expenditure on this account shall be made in accordance with the items and norms of assistance provided approved for COVID-19 issued by MHA, read the order.
