Srinagar 12 Apr 20: Ashok Bhat, District President (BJP Srinagar) Sunday greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.
In a message of felicitation, the District president, Ashok Bhat said that this day has a special significance for the Sikh community, as Khalsa Panth was born on this day. He added that the day also marks the beginning of the New Year in the Indian Calendar.
Ashok Bhat said that in the northern states, Baisakhi also marks the commencement of the harvesting season, when farmers reap the fruit of their hard work. He observed that the celebration of this festival is a shining example of our glorious pluralistic traditions.
Bhat prayed for peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the Jammu and Kashmir UT and prays that this day will come with blessings upon us and save us all from this pandemic situation of Coronavirus disease (Covid-19). Bhat also appealed people to stay indoors to contain the virus and prevent its spread.
