Neighbours exchange fire in Frontier district , Woman, Minor among three killed

Srinagar, April 12 : Guns roar again along line of control (LOC) in Frontier district of north Kashmir killed three including woman and a minor while several houses were damaged.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a woman and a minor among three were killed in a cross border shelling this evening in Kupwara district.

Officials said firing and shelling from across the border in Kupwara sector was retailated by this side of army, however in the shelling two civilians and a child were killed.

A police officer also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch about the casualty and said two civilians from Chowkibal village while a minor from Tumna village were killed, he said police rushed to the area to rescue the civilian population.

The officer identified deceased as Shameena Begum wife of Ghulam Mohammad Hajam, Javeed Ahmed Khan son of Ghulam Rasool of Reddi Chowkibal , Officer said the identification of minor is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier, five militants and five soldiers were killed in a gunfight at Keran sector of Kupwara.
