Locals catch thief red handed, four others escape in Soura


Srinagar, Apr 15 : Locals apprehended a thief while four of his associates managed to escape when they were stealing goods from a shop in Soura area of Srinagar city.

The incident occurred at Takiya Pandach area of Soura on Tuesday night.

Sources told that five burglars broke into the shop of one Abdul Karim Ahangar and stole goods from the provisional store. The owner of the shop with the help of locals managed to apprehend a thief while four others escaped from the spot with stolen goods.

A police official while confirming the incident said that a thief has been locked-up while efforts are on to nab his associates. He said that a formal case in this regard has been registered. (KNT)
