SMC’S continual drive against illegal constructions

22 illegal constructions demolished during COVID-19 lockdown: Commissioner

SRINAGAR, APRIL 20: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has demolished as many as 22 illegal constructions and removed encroachments during the country-wide lockdown to ordered to curb the spread of Corona virus.

Commissioner SMC, Gazanfar Ali said that despite being pre-occupied with sanitization works, in view of COVID 19 Pandemic, the SMC is constantly keeping vigil on the illegal constructions and encroachments carried by some miscreants.

He said that the anti-encroachment wing of SMC has demolished as many as 22 illegal structures and removed encroachments during current month, till date.

He added that during the current month demolition drives were carried in various areas including Palpora, Lal Bazar, Bemina, Sangam, Saida Pora, Hyderpora and other places.

The Commissioner appealed people to abstain from illegal construction and encroachments and warned of stern action against anyone found involved in such illegal activity.
