Raj Bhavan observes National Anti-Terrorism Day

Srinagar, May 21 (KINS): Anti-Terrorism Day was observed here at Raj Bhavan today. The staff and officers of the Lieutenant Governor’s office read out the Anti Terrorism Pledge on the occasion and expressed the resolve of the nation ‘to oppose all forms of terrorism and violence’ and to promote ‘peace, social harmony and understanding’ among fellow citizens.

The objective behind the observance of Anti-Terrorism Day is to wean away people from terrorism, violence and to generate awareness in the country among all sections of people about its impact on human suffering and lives. The day renews our resolve to spread the message of peace, humanity, unity, and harmony among the people and make us all aware about anti-social act of terrorism.

In his message, Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu stressed on maintaining peace and putting in renewed efforts to restore communal harmony by taking on subversive forces head on. He observed that terrorism is not just confined to India alone but the whole world is now afflicted with it. He further added that it was only through collective efforts and resolve; the terror menace could be wiped out.(KINS)
