Cross border shelling in Uri

Srinagar, Jun 12(KINS) : The armies of India and Pakistan on Friday exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A defense official told news agency KINS that Pakistan army resorted to “unprovoked fire” along the Line of Control in Hajipeer sector and Chrunda area of Uri. “The soldiers manning the fence are responding the fire strongly”, the official said.

However, there were no immediate reports about damage to life or the property on either side.

A police officer said that firing from both sides is on, however no loss of life or injury has been reported sofar.

Pertinently, last week five residential houses were damaged in a cross border shelling at Hajipeer sector of Uri.(KINS)
