DC G’bl hands over scooties to specially-abled persons

GANDERBAL, JUNE 15: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal Monday handed over motorized tricycles (Scooties) to thirteen specially-abled persons of district Ganderbal at a function held here.

The distribution was organized by District Social Welfare Officer, Ganderbal, and Motorized Tri-cycles were provided by the State Rehabilitation Council, J&K an institution of the Social Welfare department.

On the occasion DDC appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare department for facilitating the specially-abled persons under different schemes saying that the differently-abled people face a lot of trouble in travelling and are dependent on others for their mobility and this scheme will definitely help them.

The DSWO informed the DDC that motorized tricycles are provided to specially-abled persons having above 40% mobility disability and between 18-50 years.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dist. Social Welfare Officer and other officers besides beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
