Budget for Ladakh increased by four times: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Srinagar, June 29 (KINS): Union Minister Hardeep Puri Monday said the budget for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) has been increased by four times.

According to news agency Kashmir Indpth News Service (KINS) Puri while addressing the people of Ladakh through a virtual Jan Samvad Rally said, “The LAHDC Act has also been amended to prioritise preservation of language and culture in Ladakh. The region will quickly achieve economic development and overcome all challenges including COVID 19,” he maintained.

The Union Minister further said that Leh and Ladakh will be turned into Smart Kshetras very soon. “54 towers have been sanctioned for telecom connectivity in the region. I will soon visit Ladakh to take stock of all the initiatives being taken in the region,” he added.(KINS)
