Training cum Awareness Programme on COVID-19 organized at Gulmarg

BARAMULLA, JULY 15: District Administration Baramulla today organised a day long awareness cum training programme for stakeholders to ensure Covid free tourism activities at the famous tourist destination Gulmarg.

The move was aimed at to educate tour and travel agents, tourist guides, hoteliers, ponywallas and other concerned stakeholders associated with the tourism sector about different measures that need to be adopted for mitigating the risk of COVID-19 infection.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo presided over the programme, on the occasion he complimented the participants and deliberated on awareness about the infection.

He highlighted the role of different stakeholders in combating COVID-19 pandemic and stressed to remain proactive for averting eventualities.

On the occasion, various resource persons including doctors informed the participants about various means and measures pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic, they emphasised for adopting requisite advisories for averting exigencies.

Earlier, the DC accompanied by various concerned officers inspected various vehicles at Pattan to monitor whether different SOPs and guidelines, especially using face masks, are being adhered to by travellers and drivers.

He urged upon the people to follow all the requisite advisories in letter and spirit for mitigating the risk of infection.

Among others, SDM Gulmarg, CEO Gulmarg Development Authority, district and sectoral officers attended the event.
