Srinagar, Dec 16 (KINS): Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police said it arrested 04 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.
The police in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that a police party of Police Station Shergarhi raided a gambling site after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 04 gamblers.
“They have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Bhat resident of Allochibagh Khadimill Srinagar, Hamid Jan resident of Beigh Mohalla Allochibagh, Wahid Rafiq sheikh resident of Shallpora Allochibagh and Mohsin Bashir Hajam resident of Allochibagh Srinagar”.
“Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹7320/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Shergarhi where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 76/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shergarhi and investigation has been initiated”.
“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units”.(KINS)
