Srinagar, Jul 29 ( KINS ) Apni Party (AP) on Thursday claimed that prominent political leaders, including from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference (NC) from Poonch, joined the party in Srinagar.
Apni Party (AP) President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari welcomed a delegation of prominent political leaders from district Poonch led by former state secretary PDP Shamim Dar who joined the party in Lal Chowk, Srinagar office.
On this occasion, Bukhari expressed hope that the joining of Mr Dar and his associates will strengthen AP cadre at the grassroots level in Pir Panjal region.
‘AP is committed to the resolution of people’s grievances at all forums available to it. Since its inception, party has advocated for a holistic development of all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir with a special emphasis on rural and other neglected areas. District Poonch is one of such areas that has a great tourism potential but unfortunately the same has never been explored by the successive governments,’ Bukhari said.
He said the topography and picturesque landscapes of Poonch have the capacity to generate employment for the locals which need to be harnessed by the government. Bukhari welcomed the new entrants into the party-fold, saying that their joining has added colors to the Party in district Poonch.
‘I am of firm belief that with the joining of our new colleagues, AP’s socio-political agenda will be disseminated effectively across the nook and corner of the region,’ he added.
On this occasion, former city president NC and president Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Surjan Singh, former Block President PDP Hafiz Mohammad Shah, Rajendra Singh, Girdar Singh, Talib Hussain, Mohammad Rafiq Mir, Amarjeet Singh and Ikmanpal Singh also joined Apni Party.
