ADDC Anantnag chairs DAC meet

Approves annual action plan of NYK Anantnag for 2021-22

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 24 ( KINS ): The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani today chaired a meeting of the District Advisory Committee (DAC) on Youth Programmes during which he approved the annual action plan of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Anantnag for the year 2021-2022.

During the meeting, the Deputy Director NYK Anantnag, Khalil Ahmad Mir apprised the ADDC and members of the committee about various month-wise proposed programmes during the financial year 2021-2022.

The meeting was informed that various programmes are in vogue in the district.

The ADDC Anantnag directed the Deputy Director to ensure the involvement of all coordinating agencies and concerned departments for successful execution of various programmes at the district and block level.

He suggested involving the ITI Department in holding various programmes related to orientation of the youth and the Handloom and Handicrafts for organizing events related to educating youth in basic vocations.

Youth being the power battery of the society must be channelized for the good cause and be kept away from the  drug menace and other social malpractices, as the NYK  is directly associated with the youths, and can prove a milestone in this regard, said the ADDC.

All the allied departments were instructed to coordinate with the said department for the implementation and awareness of the centrally sponsored schemes.

While underlining the importance of career guidance and counselling programmes to be organized at a larger level, ADDC instructed the Deputy Director to hold such programmes in collaboration with the Employment & Counseling Department Anantnag. He also stressed for organizing the training of youth on Jal Jagran Abhiyan in collaboration with the PHE Department Anantnag.

Feedback and suggestions were also taken from the members for best results to come in this regard.

Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that there are at present 440 youth clubs in the district and a total of 34 Nehru Yuva Volunteers (NYVs) in position.

General Manager, District Industries Center Anantnag (DIC), Chief Medical officer Anantnag, District Social Welfare Officer Anantnag, District Youth Service & Sports Officer Anantnag, National Youth Volunteers, Youth Leaders and other members of the advisory committee were present during the meeting.
