Ramban: Surprise inspections conducted in Govt offices

Action ordered against absentee employees

RAMBAN, AUGUST 24 – To enforce punctuality and end the absenteeism in the Government offices, several teams led by senior officers today conducted surprise inspections in Government offices here across Ramban District.

During the inspections, a number of officers and senior officials were found playing truant from their official duties.

The inspections were conducted with the objective of ensuring punctuality in offices and effective public service delivery mechanism across all departments.

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, conducted surprise visit to various district offices and issued directions for strict action against those who were found absent from duty.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Rajinder Sharma and ADC, Harbans Lal also inspected offices of PW&R&B , Jal Shakti, Health, Transport, Social Welfare, Education, Handicrafts & Handloom, DTO and other district, sectoral and engineering departments.

The ACR, Ramban SDM Gool, Banihal and Ramsoo inspected offices in their respective jurisdictions.

As many as 95 employees of different departments were found absent from duty and directions were issued to take action against them in terms of service conduct rules.

Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner said the District Administration will not tolerate indiscipline and take strict action as per rules against those who do not perform their duties assiduously.

The names of absentee employees have also been forwarded to their Divisional headquarters for action as per rules. The DC also expressed serious concern over the delay in implementation of earlier directions on improving the hygienic environs of various office premises in all blocks of the District Administrative Complex. He urged the HoDs to maintain their respective buildings and improve the hygiene.
