Police arrests 02 notorious drug peddlers in Kulgam;

Contraband substance recovered

Srinagar Oct06 (KINS): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Kulgam have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Acting on specific information regarding presence of contraband substance in the residential houses of Mohammad Yousuf Rather S/O Mohammad Maqbool Rather and Mohammad Amin Bhat S/O Abdul Khaliq Bhat, residents of Damidullah, Yaripora, a police team headed by SHO PS Yaripora alongwith Executive Magistrate Yaripora raided the spots. During search, the team was able to recover 08 Kgs of Cannabis powder from both the residential houses. Both the accused persons were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 68/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered at Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. (KINS)
