Awareness camp on Anti ragging laws    held

Jammu , Oct 16 ( KINS) :    Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Muncif R S Pura under the Chairmanship of Sidhant Vaid (Muncif) in association with Department of Physics under the patronage of  Principal Sunil Uppal of GDC R S Pura derive an awareness camp on Anti ragging laws within the college campus.

Dr Jaipal Singh HoD Physics welcome Advocate Panel Lawyer Kesar Parveen who delibrated about ragging for almost an hour with the conclusive note that it is not only the moral duty of academic and technical institutions viz schools, colleges and universities but also it is the social responsibility of every enlightened parent, people of the locality, eminent personalities of academic excellence, religious gurus and leaders of the country to implement the verdict of supreme court in letter and spirit as the concept of ragging, a western concept, had taken a horrifying shape in the mind of juniors especially in technical universities and medical colleges. She explained in details the penal action /penality/expulsion…etc.

Principal Prof Sunil Uppal gave a patience hearing to the speaker and suggested for repeating this  activity at different levels on different platforms to overcome this menace. He stated that this will build confidence in new entrants. Besides this, he emphasized that it would enhance the safety and security of the individual and desist  anti elements in encourging ragging.

NCC Students under the dynamic leadership of Prof Chetan Sharma also attended the lecture and raised many queries to clear their doubts about the FIR and judicial action plan in case of ragging.

Others present in the awareness camp besides students were Dr Balwinder Kour, Prof Rajesh Sharma. Dr Balwinder Kour culminated the awareness camp with vote of thanks to speaker, Muncif Sidant Vaid and Principal prof Sunil Uppal who left no stone unturned in making this event a success.( KINS)
